Emergencies: Call... 911
Information: Call... (330) 562-2862

In the old days.     If you have read the history of Reminderville, you may have an inkling of why residents really appreciate the quality of their safety forces. We are especially proud of our new fire station. If you can find some time and/or have young children, by all means visit our fire station. Just call (330) 562-2862 or stop by anytime.

Today we are something special.

About today's department:
Reminderville's Fire Department has a lot to offer residents. Fire Chief Tom Plunkett heads up a superb full coverage department with fully trained staff. Each firefighter is also a fully certified Paramedic. The department gains its extensive experience from veteran firefighters/paramedics throughout Northeast Ohio. These dedicated professionals are the front lines guarding our residents against medical
emergency or the danger of fire, but their role is also concernedwith many other safety issues.
The firefighters are certified and train continually on such varied disciplines as Rope & Rescue, Ice & Water Rescue, Hazardous Material Handling, Trench Collapse Rescue and virtually any other technical or specialized rescue situation. Our firefighters urge you to take advantage of the free programs they offer right at the firehouse. We will provide, at no charge, blood pressure checks, smoke detector testing or installation, Home Safety Inspections, and Foster Home Inspections.

 Community involvement:
We enjoy sponsoring popular community events such as the Senior Spaghetti Dinner, where all village senior citizens are invited to the firehouse for a spaghetti and meatballs dinner prepared for them by our firehouse chef!  We also liven up the holidays with the annual Santa Toy Delivery, where each child who participates has a toy delivered to them at their home by Santa who arrives on the back of a fire truck.

Home owner precautions:
1. Have working smoke detectors on each level of your home - check them NOW!
2. Have at least one carbon monoxide detector located near the sleeping area.
3. Do not warm up your vehicle inside the garage, even with the door open. This can lead to carbon monoxide accumulations inside the living areas.
4. Pay attention when cooking. Unattended food on the stove is a major cause of fires.
5. Have your chimney professionally cleaned and inspected to avoid potential problems.
6. Remove the back of your clothes dryer periodically and clean the lint accumulations from around the motor. Make sure you disconnect the electric power first.
7. Use extreme caution when burning candles in the home. Sadly, candles are the cause of thousands of fire deaths and millions in dollar loss each year!
