Household Hazardous Waste
Need to dispose of household hazardous waste, old tires, computers, etc.? This service is available through the Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Center, 1201 Graham Road, Stow, Oh between April and September.  Hours of operation are Tuesday afternoons 1-4 p.m. and Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.  If you need more information, please contact 330-374-0383, Summit/Akron Solid Waste Management Authority...  http://www.saswma.org

REFUSE PICK-UP & RECYCLING


The Village of Reminderville awarded the Solid Waste Collection contract to J&J Refuse, starting January of 2008.
 
Pick Up and Holiday Schedule
J&J picks up trash and recyclables on Friday.  Trash and recyclables may be at the curb on Thursday evening after 6:00 p.m.  All items must be at the curb by 8:00 a.m. on Friday morning to ensure pick-up by the waste hauler.
 
NOTE: Any collection day falling on one of the listed holidays will be collected the next day:

New Years Day
Memorial Day
Independence Day
Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day

Rules and Regulations:
Content
Please place your residential refuse on the curb by 8:00 am on Fridays
Your refuse should be in containers, bags or bundled.  Your recyclables should be in the provided 18-gallon yellow recycling bin, separated from the refuse.
     Refuse containers need to be 20-35 gallons in size and not exceed 50-lbs. when filled. Tree and brush trimmings and carpet must be bundled and tied not exceeding four (4) feet in length or 50-lbs. per bundle.
 
General Household Rubbish
There is no limit on the number of containers or bags containing residential rubbish generated from your household that can be set out for collection.
 
Large Items - Extra Cost
Large items set at the curb will be collected and on your quarterly bill you will be invoiced for the collection of the large item. The cost for most large items is $15. each. A detailed list will be on your invoice.
 
Appliances - Extra Cost
Appliances set at the curb will be collected and  on your next quarterlly bill you will be invoiced $15. for each appliance. * Freon must be removed and the appliance tagged by certified technician before we can collect freon containing appliances.
 
Refuse Items Not Collected
Large car parts, tires, batteries, construction debris from contractors, and liquids will not be collected.
 
Recycling Rules & Regulations
Please place your 18 gallon recycling bin out on the curb, seperate from your rubbish containers by 8 am on Fridays.  It is not necessary to put our your bin every week unless it is full.
 
Commingled Materials
How to participate ...
Collect alluminum, steel and bi-metal cans, glass bottles and jars, plastic containers marked #1 & #2. Place them together (commingled) in your recycling bin.
 
Newspapers and Magazines
How to participate ...
Stack newspapers and magazines, tie securely with twine and place next to your recycling bin or on top of the commingled materials in you bin. Newspapers always on top.
 
Cardboard
Large cardboard boxes must be broken down and stacked next to your recycling bin.
 
Recycling Items Not Collected
Window glass, light bulbs, drinking glasses, mirrors or ceramics, containers that are contaminated (such as motor oil, antifreeze, pesticide, herbicide and containers with food in them).  If your recycling bin is not collected due to contaminated items being in them, a note will be left. Please remove the contamination and set the items out for collection the next week.
