Summit County Metro Parks

Much of our Reminderville history in the northeast corner of Summit County includes tales of exploring the natural wonders found in what is now Summit County Metro Parks Liberty Park.
Around the year 2000, Reminderville, Twinsburg Township, Summit County Metro Parks met with the City of Twinsburg to consolidate and develop the land so this unique property could meet its potential.
Today, the Metro Parks are actively constructing safe access paths through select areas of Liberty Park. Plans include an eventual Nature Center to be constructed in the park, just south of Post Rd. In the old stone house at 9207 Liberty Road, Twinsburg Naturalist Stanley Stine is often found planning and coordinating long range plans with the Metro Parks. He has put together some fabulous videos of this wonderous area. You would enjoy talking with Mr. Stine about the ledges hidden back in the park, or about the rare new species of shrimp recently discovered in its caves. Better yet you may be able to  purchase one of the terrific videos which have appeared on local cable channels which detail the wonders of Liberty Park.
